Bobby Brown was in jail for less than a day.

Well, that was fast. Bobby Brown has been released from a California jail after serving less than a day behind bars stemming from his October DUI arrest, E! News confirms.

"He is presently home with family," his reps said in a statement.

The New Jack Swinger surrendered just Wednesday in a Van Nuys, Calif., court to begin serving was supposed to be a 55-day sentence after pleading no contest last month to driving under the influence and to driving on a suspended license.

However, because of prison overcrowding, it was the L.A. County Sheriff's Department's prerogative to let the 44-year-old Brown out early to begin his four-year summary probation, which includes an 18-month alcohol education program among other requirements.

And that's just fine by him.

"Mr. Brown has accepted responsibility for what occurred last October 2012. Mr. Brown is pleased that the matter has been resolved and to be home with his wife and young son," added his attorney, Christopher Brown.

The "Every Little Step" singer and ex-husband of Whitney Houston was collared on Oct. 24 after police caught him weaving between lanes and pulled him over. It was his second DUI bust in less than a year after he was previously popped in March 2012 in the San Fernando Valley. That case also ended in a no-contest plea to a misdemeanor DUI charge.
